Jeep JK 1ton Axle Swap

This JK came in ready for a serious upgrade. The factory axles were swapped out for a Dana 60 pulled from a 2008 Ford F350 up front and a 14 bolt out of a 2002 Chevy Silverado 2500 in the rear. Both are significantly beefier than anything the JK left the factory with and built for real use. We used a Barnes 4WD 1 ton 3 link swap kit to reconfigure the mounts and get everything sitting where it needed to be.

Both axles got ARB Air Lockers and were regeared to 5.13s using Yukon Gear to match the 40 inch tires this rig is running. The lockers give it selectable traction when the terrain calls for it, and the gearing keeps the drivetrain in the right range without lugging the motor. This is the kind of swap that transforms what a JK is capable of. When it left the shop it was a fundamentally different rig than when it came in.
